HSE First Aid at Work (FAW) or equivalent

The baseline of our deployment, providing vital initial care and site safety.

Clinical Capabilities

Primary Survey (DRAB) & Secondary Assessment

Basic Life Support (BLS) & AED Operation

External Haemorrhage & Hypovolaemic Shock

Head & Spinal Injury Manual Stabilisation

Management of Fractures & Major Trauma

Medical Emergency Recognition (Stroke, Heart Attack)

Assisting with Inhalers, Autoinjectors & Oral Glucose

Incident Reporting & Clinical Documentation

FREC 3 Responders

Qualsafe Level 3 First Response Emergency Care or equivalent

Intermediate first responders trained in incident management and basic emergency care. We will also provide additional training.

Massive Haemorrhage Control (Tourniquet/Packing)

Airway Management (OP/NP/Suction)

Medical Oxygen & Entonox Administration

Trauma Immobilisation (Basic)

Casualty Assessment (C-ABCDE)

Basic Life Support (BLS) & AED

FREC 4 Responders

Qualsafe Level 4 First Response Emergency Care or equivalent

Advanced first responders providing intermediate clinical intervention and support to registered clinicians.

Intermediate Life Support (ILS)

Trauma Immobilisation (Intermediate)

ECG Application & Recognition

Medical Oxygen & Entonox Administration

Incident Management (METHANE Reporting)

Ambulance Technicians

IHCD / AAP / FutureQuals Level 4 Diploma or equivalent

Advanced practitioners operating within a defined scope of emergency care and transport.

Clinical Capabilities

Full patient diagnostic assessment (ECG, BGL, BP, SpO2)

Administration of JRCALC approved medications

Advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider

Advanced trauma care and wound management

Emergency response driving (Blue Light)

Autonomous clinical decision making for discharge/referral

Registered Paramedics

HCPC Registered Paramedic (BSc/Dip) or equivalent

State-registered clinicians leading on-site medical teams and complex clinical cases.

Advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider

Advanced Clinical Assessment & Diagnostics

Invasive Procedures (IV/IO Access, Advanced Airway)

Wide pharmacopoeia administration (POMs)

Clinical Leadership & Governance Oversight

Independent admission and discharge authority

GMC Registered Medical Practitioner or equivalent
